Bonjour à tous, Je m'excuse mais je ne parle pas italien. J'écris un livre dans lequel un chapitre sera consacré au sous-marin Scirè. Je sais qu'il existe un monument commémoratif du Scirè à Augusta, Sicile, probablement à la base navale. Je possède des photos de ce monument en petite définition et je cherche quelqu'un qui pourrai m'en envoyer en haute définition car les miennes ne sont pas exploitables. Je ne sais pas comment joindre de photos au site mais n'hésitez pas à me demander, je vous les enverrai par E-Mail. Io non progetto costruì un modello ma sta cercando per dettagli per un libro che io sto scrivendo trattando con naufragi circa coste francesi. Io mi tuffai il CAPITANO TARANTINI via Le Verdon, ricostruì una grande parte del suo passato e gli ultimi momenti ma ancora cercando per buoni piani e schemi. Io so uno mostrando il sottomarino da dritta e lati superiori, un altro uno che mostra gli stessi profili con tutti i compartimenti in ma io non posso riuscire nell'associarmi a loro alla mia risposta. A proposito me lesse un libro francese ("Sommergibili in Francia 1940-1943" di J.P. Gillet) dove l'autore stava dicendo che dopo l'affondamento, tuffatori Tedeschi tentarono avvicinato il naufragio e sentirono rumori in lui ma a causa della cattiva condizione del mare loro non riuscirono a liberarli. Sfortunatamente JP Gillet non mi rispose mai ed io non trovai nessun rapporto che conferma questa possibile operazione di liberazione. I do not plan to built a model but am seeking for details for a book that I am writing dealing with wrecks around French coasts. I dove the CAPITANO TARANTINI off Le Verdon, reconstructed a big part of her past and last moments but still seeking for good plans and schemas. I know about one showing the submarine from starboard and upper sides, another one showing the same profiles with all compartments inside but I cannot succeed in joining them to my answer. By the way I read a French book ("Italian submarines in France 1940-1943" by J.P. Gillet) where the author was saying that after the sinking, German divers tried approached the wreck and heard noises inside it but due to bad condition of the sea they failed to rescue them. Unfortunately JP Gillet never answered me and I found no report confirming this possible rescue operation. Thanks a lot, MAX

EQUA (243 BRT) fu costruito nel 1929 per la società di S.A. Navigazione di Napolitan. Lei era da molto 45-metro lungo. Nel 1940 lei era requisitionned dalla Regia Marina e F43 cambiato il nome, poi AS105. Lei diviene sottomarino-cacciatrice in carica per osservare il porto di La Spezzia e fu usata come scuola-nave per tuffatori e futuro Nuotatori di lotta. Il 10 giugno 1944 lei fu sbattuta da una nave Tedesca via La Spezzia, e rapidamente affondò a 1,8 miglia nautici da Capo Montenegro. Qualcuno può essere di aiuto? Grazie per ogni risposta. I am seeking for plans of the auxilair ship of the Regia Marina EQUA. The EQUA (243 BRT) was built in 1929 for the « S.A. Napolitan Navigation » company. She was 45m long. In 1940 she was requisitionned by the Regia Marina and renamed F43, then AS105. She become submarine-chaser in charge to survey the harbour of La Spezzia and was used as school-ship for divers and future naval frogmen. On 10 June 1944 she was rammed by a German ship off La Spezzia, and quickly sank at 1,8 nautical miles from Cape Montenegro. Perhaps a book already published them. Indeed what I am looking for is the name and coordinates of the museum or archives which held these plans in order to buy copies. Can someone be of help ? Thanks a lot for all answers.
