yes, I got the plans of ANB. A very friendly italian gentleman bought them for me. He had not seen me before ! The on-line show did not work, and he had to contact the secretary of the ANB to get the plans. That is another man I am very grateful to. later on, it appears that the general shape is OK on the plans, but the details look very different on the Zagreb Submarine. for example : the floodholes on the deck, the way the hatches open, and the form of the tail. From the book it ia also very clear there were a lot of variations in how these boats were built.

Yes, the photo's of the trieste sub were a great help. These photo's were posted because I asked for information on this forum. I am very grateful for that help ! I also have the book (caproni e il mare). I visisted also the CB-20 in Zagreb technical museum.

R/C does not work if antenna is in salt water, It must be fresh water only. as the periscope is out of the water it could be possible to use it at sea, but the lake is big enough to loose the sub! I don't need the sea for that :s03:

Andrea, I will make a watertight compartment from a drainage pipe. I plan to use the space between the pipe and the sides of the hull als ballast tanks. this will get the sub from surface to almost submerged. the last bit of the dive I plan to do with a small trimtank. I want the periscope to be above the water all the time, because I want to use it as a video/wifi antenna. so dive control must be good. One of the problems I think about now is where to have the openings in the completed hull to reach the electronics and mechanics. The photo is the original model, I will make a rubber cast from it, and with the cast I will create the polyester hull. I have a building log at another forum : you can see it here but my speed of building is low..

Hi, I just bought a book "Die Sonaranlagen der deutchen unterseeboote" by Eberhard Rössler. it says about type VII boats : U719 (this was the boat it was tested on, september 1943) production on type VII only after a year U779 late sommer 1944 U682 & U1172 oktober 1944 further type VII boats are *probably* U1002, U1019, U1105 and U1306-1308 You have to find out if these boats were VIIC-41. Ho fatto un nuovo alloggiamento del periscope e della sovrastruttura e due portelli. The hull is almost ready for detailing. when the details are done I make a mold and then I can make the hull I will use in the water. I made a new superstructure and periscope housing, and two hatches.

Totiano, The ANB plans : some are original but other plans are new. like the plan of the upper deck. This plan is not usable. holes are too large, other details are missing. Also, this plan shows the tail of the boat is smaller than the boat. CB20 has a tail that is as wide as the hull. Also, I have never seen the tail shown on the plan in wartime photo's. all tails I have seen on wartime photo's are like in my last picture. I have not seen the CB in Trieste myself, but I understand it has been rusting before the museum took it. I think much of the hull is new. The hull in Zagreb is original (with rivets !) Also, the tower of the trieste boat looks different compared to photo's from the wartime. But also you are right : the yougoslav army modified the CB-20 boat after the war. I will build my model as I have seen it in Zagreb. just to remember a very pleasant visit. I am no expert, but the zagreb boat gives me the most information. we will never know if the model is 100% correct. that is OK. Hello friends, I am very grateful for the photo's made by Luco Comarin (U112). Now I have visisted the Zagreb Technical Museum, and I would like to thank you with a few photo's I made. Visiting this submarine in Zagreb changed my view on the ANB plans. there are several things not correct in those drawings. especially the drawing of the upper deck does not correspond to the CB-20 in Zagreb. The tail is too low in the plans and the dive planes are not wide enough. Ciao amici, Sono molto riconoscente per la foto fatta da Luco Comarin (U112). Thanks again for the help ! I will report on the progress. My model will be able to dive. I have already built another model, based on a plastic kit (trumpeter Kilo 1/144). Thanks Steffsap ! I did know the picture, but not the link to the museum. I knew some pages in an overview of all the museums of Triest. maybe the email account mentioned on this site works ! (the other did not) I have also seen the dive site. It seems to me that sub is too large to be an CB (and if it had two periscopes, as in the drawing, it is certainly no CB) Also, I have no photo-proof yet with a netcutter mounted on the CB. I think this sub could also be the follow-up of the CB, the CM or CC. what do you think ?

Hi Steffsap ! Thanks for your assistance. I do have the ANB plans already. very valuable for building ! but there seems to be small differences between individual boats, like the shape of the periscope housing and the rear of the tower structure. Once I put polyester on my model, I can only make small changes. so any information is welcome in this stage, while I can modify the base model easily.
