marat Report post Posted August 11, 2011 La Re Umberto aveva due cubie per ciascun lato, e quindi ripeteva lo schema delle due Italia e delle tre Lauria. Anche le due Filiberto ebbero due ancore per lato, ma la Filiberto propriamente detta non aveva cubie e la Saint-Bon in pratica le aveva all'altezza del ponte. Sicilia e Sardegna, se si escludono la prima Duilio e la Dandolo, furono quindi le prime grandi navi ad avere in dotazione due linee d'ancoraggio in tutto. Rispetto alle altre due, la Re Umberto aveva anche una lunghezza lievemente inferiore, i basamenti delle artiglierie principali un poco diversi (meno raccordati al ridotto centrale) tre coffe anziché due sull'albero, e fumaioli privi di camiciature. Sicilia e Sardegna erano praticamente identiche, tranne che nel disegno dei fumaioli: poco più bassi quelli della Sicilia, e con gli sfoghi delle camiciature più elaborati (a me fanno pensare alle torri merlate). La Sicilia aveva anche un imponente fregio a prua che riproduceva un'aquila (che deve essere morta affogata, visto l'assetto che prendeva la nave già ad andature medie) con le ali stilizzate appoggiate ai masconi. Innanzi tutto, come ben si vede dalla foto, non solo non allontanavano i fumi dal ponte di volo (principale motivo di questa scelta bislacca), ma spesso gli "exausts" invadevano i locali interni rendendoli inabitabili! Lo é, secondo me, e dalle coffe sull'albero (relativamente piccole) potrebbe essere il Garibaldi. L'unità seminascosta potrebbe invece essere, a giudicare dai fumaioli, la Sardegna. Su un libro che mi è stato segnalato da Marco Bussolino, "Sulle Onde della storia", che ho trovato in una biblioteca (credo che poi ne farò una recensione in Biblio) ci sono un sacco di foto della Marina Austraca che si consegna all' Italia. Non so se sia un caso ( o meglio : un pessimo carburante) o se sia una specie di "segno di lutto" o comunque un elemento simbolico, ma tutte le unità fotografate nell' occasione emanano fumi neri... Alla scuola comando, poi!! Uhhh... se non è TROPPO complicato e non prende troppo tempo (in tal caso lasciate pur perdere senza rammarico nè rimpianti )....che significa? E ne approfitto per riprendere la domanda sulle ragioni del fumo nero (mi pare già ci fosse una risposta in giro, ma purtroppo non riesco a ritrovarla...).
