Saab to Develop New Torpedo for Swedish Navy

 

Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) regarding design plans for a New Lightweight Torpedo (NLT).

The order refers to the period 2014-2015 and amounts to the value of MSEK 43. The order is part of the Letter of Intent regarding the Swedish armed forces underwater capability which was announced on June 9, 2014.

Saab has received an order from FMV regarding design plans for a New Lightweight Torpedo. This is the first step in developing a new lightweight torpedo. Final delivery of this order will be during 2015.

Se non mi sbaglio, quella svedese è l' unica Marina occidentale ad usare il calibro di 450 (o 457 ?) nella propria panoplia di siluri, dico bene ?

Sbaglio, o qualche mese fa avevo evidenziato una notizia che riguardava la SAAB e la Marina Svedese? Faccio fatica a ricordare, onestamente, ma mi pareva si parlasse di cantieristica e acquisizione di tecnologia e infrastrutture: se ho ragione, quest'ordine andrebbe inquadrato nella collaborazione sempre più stretta tra il colosso svedese e il suo stesso Governo.

non riesco a trovarlo, ma ricordo il concetto: Saab doveva farsi carico di acquisire il knowhow di dei cantieri Kokums (ora Thissen) per produrre sommergibili senza passare da paesi esteri.
