Sono sempre stato appassionato alla Marina Militare perché mio nonno ha passato la vita in Marina, arruolatosi a 16 anni, ha prestato servizio in guerra come sommergibilista sullo Uarshiek, fino al giorno in cui fu preso prigioniero ad Alessandria d'Egitto. I suoi racconti più belli riguardavano i viaggi di istruzione con la Amerigo Vespucci, la sua "seconda casa", quando vi prestava servizio come capo e addetto ai "borselli" dei cadetti. Ho provato ad entrare in Accademia Navale per il corso Ufficiali all'età di 19 anni, mi classificai dopo il tirocinio in Accademia 34 esimo su 250 posti circa a disposizione... Ancora oggi mi Chiedo come mai non ho frequentato il corso....sposato, ho 3 bellissimi figli e faccio l'assicuratore. Sono appassionato di storia militare della II guerra mondiale con un occhio di riguardo alle unità sommergibili. Buon vento a tutti. Alfredo.
