ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:Sea State: 3 - Time of Day (Hr): 17 - Bottom type: Mud - Month: November - Weather: Puffy Clouds - SSP Type: Surface Duct - Cloud Height: 2000 m SITUAZIONE 15 novembre 1986 L'idrofono dell'area SOSUS-1 è danneggiato, il suo funzionamento è di notevole importanza, essendo il più vicino alla STAZIONE SOSUS di KEFLAVIK rappresenta un importante dispositivo di rilevamento a difesa della stessa. Le unità navali della US NAVY presenti nell'area sono quindi chiamate a pattugliare l'area SOSUS-1 fino a quando l'idrofono danneggiato non verrà riparato (ore 19:20) Agenti del KGB hanno raccolto informazioni sulla temporanea disattivazione dell'idrofono SOSUS-1 e sulle operazioni di riparazione che verranno effettuate. Sulla base di tali informazioni e vista la momentanea vulnerabilità del sistema SOSUS, la Marina Sovietica ha pianificato una missione affidata a tre dei suoi SSN per distruggere la STAZIONE SOSUS disattivando cosi le linee idrofoniche e consentendo ai propri SSBN di oltrepassare le stesse senza essere rilevati. --------------------------------------------------------------------- BLUE FORCE SSN LOS ANGELES II - Stefano FFG O.H.
