Sono curioso di sapere come è diventata "abbastanza famosa" questa nave. Trattandosi di una cisterna per combustibili, mi sa che abbia combinato qualche guaio ecologico... Cercando a casaccio ho trovato alcune navi con il fumaiolo che sembrerebbe colorato allo stesso modo... Secondo me in quel sito c'è la soluzione. Ad esempio, queste foto del Thomas Wilson dovrebbero far pensare: la sovrastruttura poppiera e altri dettagli sono diversi, ma... tanto per cominciare secondo me la Compagnia di navigazione è la medesima, e - poi - quel dettaglio dell'asta di bompresso praticamente uguale... La nave affondò durante una burrasca, spezzandosi in due tronconi, con la sezione di prua in assetto di navigazione e quella di poppa sottosopra. Dalle numerose foto che potete trovare in rete, è possibile vedere come il relitto sia perfettamente conservato trovandosi immerso in acque dolci e fredde. Negli anni successivi diversi reperti furono recuperati, in particolare la campana che fu restaura ed esposta nel Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. Al suo posto sul relitto fu collocata una copia su cui furono incisi i nomi dei membri dell'equipaggio. Ora tocca a giampyg continuare il gioco :s01: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
