Anche questa volta il narratore è un protagonista, il maro Ubaldo Rossi. Studente in lettere, volontario, proprio su consiglio del Cap. Tori raccolse a bordo del S. Giorgio le testimonianze dell'equipaggio per farne un libro. Colpisce il ritratto di C° Alessandro Montagna, MOVM, che fu per l'Autore come un padre. Da leggersi se possibile assieme al precedente.
